HHH Vacancy: Steering Committee Member
We are currently seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic member to join our Steering Committee (SC). This is an exciting opportunity to influence the direction of our network and contribute to its ongoing success.
About HHH
History, Health & Healing (HHH) is the network for academic medical historians and researchers in The Netherlands. HHH aims to stimulate research, to foster communication and to organise graduate teaching in the medical humanities. Through our website and activities we offer a platform to inform, connect and engage researchers and research groups, junior as well as advanced. HHH is part of the Huizinga Institute, the research institute and graduate school of cultural history in the Netherlands.
Key Responsibilities
- Designing (long term) policies for the network.
- Organization of two meetings per year.
- Content management of the website and the newsletter; general maintenance of the website via the webmaster.
- Maintaining contacts with sister organisations (University research centres, Huizinga institute, Stichting Historia Medicinae, etc.).
- Stimulating and facilitating networking and interdisciplinary work within the network and beyond (for example via meetings, joint grant applications, joint publications, op-eds etc.).
- Creating opportunities for and synergies between graduate students and early career scholars.
Requirements
Members of the SC should preferably hold an academic position at a Dutch university, research institute, or (science) museum. Additionally, they must have a proven academic research interest in the history of Dutch/Flemish medicine or medical/health humanities.
