Narcotic City digital archive opened
On October 29, the opening of the digital Narcotic City Archive was celebrated in Amsterdam. The archive collects and preserves the heritage of substance use and many associated social, cultural, economic, and political issues. The initiators aim to gather a wide range of historical and contemporary materials and invites different groups and individuals to contribute. Contributions can be uploaded on the Narcotic City website.
The Narcotic City Archive is part of the Humanities in the European Research Area (HERA) funded project Narcotic City, including HHH members Gemma Blok, Lisanne Walma and Jasper Bongers (all from the Open University of the Netherlands). The project is being conducted by six teams based in leading European research institutes: in addition to the Open University, the Institute for Advanced Study in the Humanities (KWI), the IB Hochschule Berlin, Aarhus University, CNRS Passages, and the Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg (MLU).
