Vacancy: two student board members for Gewina
Gewina, the Belgian-Dutch Society for the History of Science and University is looking for two student board members from the Netherlands and Belgium for two years.
Deadline: July 1
About Gewina
Our young board organizes meetings and makes possible the annual publication of two magazines: the scientific magazine Journal for the History of Knowledge, and an accessible magazine Wonderkamer. We keep our members informed of activities via our website www.gewina.nl and are active on social media. We would like to keep in touch with students by setting up activities that are particularly interesting and relevant to them.
History of science
We are looking for two candidates (preferably one from the Netherlands and one from Belgium) with a serious interest in the broad history of science: this could be a student in history or philosophy of science, but also someone who writes a thesis on university history, Italian humanism, or book history. It is a plus if you are following or intend to follow a research master’s degree.
Interested?
Are you interested? Send a letter of motivation to office@gewina.nl no later than 1 July. Include some suggestions to make Gewina better known and more attractive, especially among students.
Details
The board meets 3x a year (1x online, 1x in the Netherlands and 1x in Belgium). Current affairs are largely arranged by e-mail in the meantime. The appointment is from September 1, 2023, and runs until August 31, 2025. We do not offer any financial compensation.
